Sencha green tea is the most popular tea in Japan for good reason. When steeped, sencha reveals complex and subtle flavors depending on the temperature of the water.  Sencha Organic Green Tea makes a perfect addition to any day; a smooth healthy choice anytime.

Our Sencha Tea is made from the first tender emerald green leaves of the tea plant. The leaves are harvested in early summer and then steamed, twisted, and dried. While fresh and bright, its flavor is bittersweet and has a clean finish.

Sencha tea is known for its potential health benefits. Sencha Tea may:

  • have anti-cancer properties
  • aid in weight loss
  • boost metabolism
  • boost energy
  • lower blood pressure
  • stimulate cognition
  • reduce cholesterol
  • boost the immune system
  • help in skincare
  • improve oral health
  • fight chronic diseases

The health benefits derived from all teas, including sencha tea, may be in large part due to antioxidants, catechins, vitamin C, beta-carotene, folic acid, saponins, potassium, calcium, and phosphorus found in these nutrient-dense leaves.

We recommend green tea to be steeped for 2 to 3 minutes in water heated to not-quite-boiling, just as bubbles begin to form on the bottom of the pan (approximately 170 to 180 degrees F). Try not to steep your tea longer than necessary, as you’ll extract undesirable bitterness from the leaves. If you want a stronger brew, don’t steep longer, just use more tea. And don’t forget to re-steep your tea leaves to get the most out of your leaf!
